Parlor Performance - Parallel/Herringbone Parlors
The following Performance indicators are displayed on the dashboard.
Parameter |
Description |
---|---|
Milking Efficiency |
Represents the efficiency deviation of the milking. This value helps to track changes of the operation efficiency from average milking efficiency data. |
Wrong group |
Displays the total number of cows milked in the wrong group in the last day. |
Wasted Time |
Parlor Performance Report
Click Parlor Performances blue triangleto open the Side Performance report.
This report provides a performance overview of each parlor side, for each session.
Top table - each row displays information for one side of the milking parlor, for a single session
Parameter |
Description |
---|---|
Date |
Date for data. By default, data is displayed for the last 24 hours, but it may be extracted also for longer periods. |
Session |
Milking session 1= morning Milking session 2 = noon Milking session 3 = evening/night |
Side |
Identifies the parlor side. |
Milking Loads |
Displays the number of loads for that side during the session. |
Milked Cows |
Displays the number of cows milked during the session (identified and unidentified cows), on the specific parlor side. |
Cows/hour |
Displays the average number of cows milked per hour for the session, on that side in the parlor. Note: This parameter does not consider milk production level, efficiency of cow movement or average milk flow rates of individual cows. Therefore, a high value may be obtained even when the cows are milked using bad practices. |
Deviation Cow/hour |
Displays the % change to average number of cows milked on that side in the parlor for an hour of the milking session. |
Milk/Hour |
Average quantity of milk recorded in the parlor for an hour of the milking session, on the particular parlor side. |
Deviation Milk/hour |
Displays the % change to average quantity of milk recorded in the parlor for an hour of the milking session, on the particular parlor side. |
Milk/Hour/Stall |
Note: This Displays the best measure of overall parlor performance. Reflects the overall rate of milk output and removes the effect of parlor size. Values are highest for high producing cows, fast milking cows, and rapid turnover of stalls. This value is not likely to be high with low milk/cow, mistreated animals, or poor let-down (preparation). |
Average milk/hour/stall |
Displays the average results for the milk/hour/stall parameter. |
Loads efficiency % |
Displays a value given to the overall efficiency of each load. |
Milking efficiency % |
Displays the value given to the overall efficiency of the milking process for that parlor side. |
Bottom table - each row displays information for one load in the session
Parameter |
Description |
---|---|
Load |
Displays the load number. |
Milked Cows |
Displays the number of cows milked during the session (identified and unidentified cows), on the specific parlor side. |
Cows ID |
Displays the number of cows that were identified by their tag. |
First ID |
Displays the time of day of the first identification for that load. |
ID Span |
Displays the time from first ID to last ID in the same load. |
First attachment |
Displays the time of day of the first attachment for that load. |
Attachment span |
Displays the time from the first attachment to last attachment in the same load. |
Wait time |
Displays the time from last detachment of previous load to first attachment. |
Loads efficiency % |
Estimates the efficiency of the milking process. It calculates the percentage of milking time the cows spend in the parlor.
Therefore Load Efficiency% = {Net Time / Visit Time} X 100 |
NET time |
Displays the time from first fist attachment in the load to last detachment in the load. |
Milking efficiency % |
Displays the value given to the overall efficiency of the milking process for that load. |
Loads Attachment Report
Click Loads Attachment blue triangleto open the Loads Attachment report.
This report provides an overview of ID and attachment times for each load, on each side. It also includes the number of cows in the wrong group in each load.
Displays attachment data for each load

Load Efficiency Report
Click Load Efficiency blue triangle to open the Load Efficiency report.
This report breaks down the times for each load, total time the load was being milked, and total amount of time wasted per load.
Parameter |
Description |
---|---|
Load |
Displays the load number for that session. |
Visit time |
Displays the total Exit open to exit open duration. |
ID span |
Displays the time from first ID to last ID in the same load (length of time to load cows). |
Time to 1st attachment |
Displays the time from opening the entry gate to attachment of first cow in the load. |
Attachment span |
Displays the duration from first attachment to last attachment in the same load. |
Time between removal |
Displays the duration from the first detachment to last detachment. |
Removal time last cow |
Displays the time between the removal of the slowest cow in the load and the second slowest (slow cows delay the entire herd). |
Time to 1st ID |
Displays the time from opening the entry gate to the first cow's identification. |
Total wasted time |
Displays total time between two consecutive openings of the exit gate that no clusters were on the cows. This indicates accumulated time that could potentially be saved (load delays, 1st attachment delay and slow cow). |
Loads efficiency % |
This parameter estimates the efficiency of the milking process. It calculates the percentage of milking time the cows spend in the parlor. Average "Load Efficiency" for the session. |
